Habitats in Year 21 October 2019 (by Lizzie Bulley (lbulley)) |
Year 2 investigate why polar bears don't live in Hackney!
Over the past 3 weeks, Year 2 have been investigating why polar bears don't live in Hackney. They have learnt all about habitats and why habitats are suited to some organisms more than others. They created their own bug hotels and observed which organisms decided to move in! They had lots of spiders, ants and even a daddy long legs! By the end of the block, Beachler Class decided that polar bears don't live in Hackney because "There are no seals or fish so there is no food chain for them," and " Hackney is not like their habitat with ice and snow. They will be too hot because of their thick fur."
