On the last day of the half term as students all over the country went on strike demanding action to prevent further climate change, we staged our very own march in the woods. On the day of the international Youth Strike 4 Climate, we read The Journey Home with the children, talking about the impact we humans have on the natural world, on animals’ habitats, and of the importance of looking after our planet. This also ties in with our Forest School rule of looking after the forest, as we know we are very lucky to have this special place to come to every week, and hopefully in the future, too. The children made their own posters and talked a lot about plastics, recycling, cars’ fumes, and their understanding that trees can filter the air for us to breathe.
