Eid Mubarak!

28 March 2025 (by Katherine Gillard (kgillard))

Our school community shares knowledge and learns from one another.

This week in our assemblies, we have been learning more about Eid-ul-Fitr. The week's assemblies were launched by a group of Year 5 pupils who planned and presented the KS1 and KS2 assembly. They explained to everyone that Eid-ul-Fitr is a celebration for Muslims all over the world and it happens once a year. The pupils shared that Eid-ul-Fitr comes at the end of Ramadan, a period of fasting. They also shared with the rest of the school lots of interesting facts about Eid-ul-Fitr which added to the pupils' existing knowledge of the celebration. The rest of the school particularly enjoyed hearing about what the Y5 pupils were most looking forward to when Eid arrives! It was interesting how this led to conversations about similarities between lots of other celebrations including, Diwali, Christmas and birthdays.

A very big well done to the Y5 pupils who planned and delivered the assemblies. How wonderful that as a school community we can learn from one another.

We would all like to say Eid Mubarak to all of our families who will be celebrating this weekend.
