Year 6 PE Focus: Fitness – Speed, Stamina, and Strength

This term in Year 6 PE, we’ve been focusing on key areas of fitness: speed, stamina, and strength. Each lesson targets a different aspect to help us improve our overall fitness.

Speed: We’ve been working on running techniques and sprint drills to boost our speed, focusing on quick starts and maintaining a fast pace.

Stamina: Our lessons have involved longer runs to build endurance, teaching us how to pace ourselves and avoid tiring out quickly.

Strength: Using bodyweight exercises like push-ups, squats, and planks, we’ve been building strength without equipment, improving our muscle control and power.

These are just the focus areas so far, but we’ll also be looking at balance and other aspects of fitness as the term progresses. We’re excited to see how we improve!
