Year 5 Designers Present their Learning5 February 2025 (by raustin) |
Children in Year Five visited Year Four to showcase their DT learning. They began by explaining they had been given the design brief to design and make an exciting cam-mechanism toy for children aged 3-5 to play with. The designers explained that cam mechanisms are made up of three components: a cam, slider and follower. The designers also shared that they had a go at disassembling a product to help them understand how it works. After considering market research, the children explained how they designed and then produced their product, with the think- make- break- repeat process running throughout. Year Four were so impressed with the final cam-mechanism toys and are excited about making their very own in the future!
