Perhaps you met Lady Winter on the way to school!
Year 4 enjoyed reading the poem Lady Winter's Rap by Grace Nichols. It seemed like a perfect poem to read in this frosty and cold weather. They imagined meeting Lady Winter in person and thought about what she would look like, how she would move and her personality. Using a range of descriptive techniques, such as expanded noun phrases, similes and alliteration, Y4 wrote a character description of Lady Winter. Using descriptive techniques can help paint a better picture in the reader's head and this is something our Y4 children will remember in future writing.
