Maths at Forest School27 November 2024 (by Natalie (nski)) |
This week during the Maths sessions the children are revisiting the concept of 1:1 correspondence by making sure that they match their collections of objects to their representations and developing their understanding of cardinality - the last number in the count tells us how many things there are altogether.
The learning continued in Forest school, where the children put on aprons with different numerals on them and found the corresponding number of objects.
And because this is Forest School, the children made a cozy nest for some birds and built a lovely bonfire, and added some lovely colour to the trees.
It was a cold but very productive day, thoroughly enjoyed by all the children.
