This half term the children in Reception have been learning all about the Zones of Regulations. The Zones is a behavioural approach which teaches the children to identify their feelings by categorizing all the different ways we feel into four concrete colour coded zones. As the children become more aware of their emotions, they learn how their behaviour affects those around them and learn some strategies to help them manage those feelings. 

To help us understand various emotions, the children used natural resources to make autumn faces, matching the pictures provided. As they showed what a focused, mad, happy and calm faces look like, the children discussed solutions for when they (or their friends) are in the blue/yellow/red zones
