Recorders in Year 225 October 2024 (by raustin) |
Have you ever wondered how woodwind instruments got their name? Well children in Year 2 have been finding out as they learn about baroque and get to grips with playing the recorder. After learning about the composer Telemann, who wrote music for the recorder, the children have been finding out about techniques to help them play the recorder and control their breath. The Year Two musicians also discovered that they can change the pitch of the recorder by covering different holes and producing different notes. Each week, we are developing fluency and accuracy with our recorder playing and we are looking forward to showcasing our music!
