In Phonics, we have been using the RWI program to help us learn the initial phonetic code. Today we learnt the sound /j/. Students applied their knowledge of the sound/grapheme relationship during handwriting practice. We focused on spatial awareness of the page and using correct pencil grip. Our pupils have developed great confidence with our phonics routine over their first month at school, through daily review and practice. Well done Reception!
