Apollo Music musicians fill our corridors with live music!
We were delighted to welcome Apollo Music back to our school today. The musicians will work with Year Four throughout the year exploring the difference sections of the orchestra. The children were introduced to this back in Year Three when they discovered how Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf tells the story of the orchestra.
Today we explored the string section of the orchestra. We used our knowledge about sound from our science topic to explore how pitch can change for the violin, viola and cello and how sound is heard. We were then treated to a wonderful performance by the string quartet.
Year 1 and 2 also received their very own performance and shared that the performance reminded them of how Vivaldi used strings in The Four Seasons.
