Year 4 collaborated with School of Noise to put their knowledge of sound to the test.
Year Four have been learning about electricity and sound in Science and were thrilled to attend a workshop hosted by School of Noise. The children took part in a range of fascinating scientific experiments on how sound is made (exploring vibrations, frequency and volume), how it travels (different mediums), and where it ends up (hearing).
The children explored sound in a number of different ways including using Chladni plates to make patterns in sand using vibration and a theremin, noticing how volume and pitch can be changed. Finding out how real fruit and vegetables can trigger musical sounds impressed us all!
