Year 6 are exploring looping some of the their letters to develop their handwriting style
Year 6 are developing their ability to write legibly, fluently and with increasing speed. Today, in their handwriting lesson they were exploring how looping certain letters such as g and y could possible support this development.
At the end of the session, we had a vote and the majority of us preferred to loop these letters because we felt it helped our writing flow better. Many children have said that they would choose to use this join when writing across the curriculum from now on. We just have to remember that when using a new join we do not forget to keep our letter height consistent!
