That's a wrap!

20 July 2024 (by Natalie (nski))

Reception had their last Forest School session of the year.

What a fantastic year of weekly Forest School sessions we've had. Rain or shine, we walked the distance to our site, explored, played, built our confidence and resilience, made new friends, learned to swing on a rope, named and cared for many worms and snails, and so much more.

We put on our scientist caps for our last session and dissected an owl pellet! One of our children's grandfather generously donated a few owl pellets for us to investigate. A group of children gently pulled the layers back to see what it is made of. Barn owl pellets contain undigested fur and bones of small mammals and we had a great time identifying what animals the bones came from.

All too soon, it was time to return to school. We celebrated our last session with our regular biscuit and a smoothie and said goodbye to our Forest School site.
