Our Wonderful Edible Garden16 May 2024 (by Katherine Gillard (kgillard)) |
It's a whole-school effort!
Today, a group of us have been busy in the Edible Garden weeding away....and finding lots of worms and interesting insects! We are growing a range of vegetables such as celeriac, swede, carrots, beetroot and a variety of herbs. The plants are tended to every day by different year groups and different groups of children (it's a nice way to get to know others in the school!). It is so exciting to watch the garden grow and to have a real-life context to support our science knowledge about plants. It has been a whole-school effort, preparing the garden for the summer term's planting and making sure the garden is well-cared for. We can't wait to showcase our produce when the time comes!
