The Year 3's were thrilled to step foot inside a real mosque this week, right after completing a week of learning about the features of a mosque and the ritual of prayer for Muslims. The children were able to spot the outside features as they arrived, such as the Minaret and domed roof, and knew to take off their shoes and carefully store them as they entered as a sign of respect in this holy building where cleanliness is of the utmost importance.

The children were hosted inside the beautiful main prayer hall of the mosque, and given the chance to share their learning about the process of Wudu that is carried out by Muslims before prayer. They loved hearing about some of Islam's main teachings and how they are carried out day-to-day by so many Muslims in our local area.

We were glad to be hosted there as it really brought our learning to life.
