Crafty Celebrations for Lunar New Year8 February 2024 (by Alex Hurst (ahurst)) |
Over the past two weeks Reception have been learning about how Lunar New Year is celebrated. The children have learnt about the importance of the colour red, the names of animals each year is named after (just ask them!) and ways in which Chinese New Year is celebrated.
The children have produced amazing dragon puppets, animal masks and colourful lanterns during continuous provision.
The adults have noticed children helping their classmates with cutting, sticking and creating their own lantern templates, teaching one another how to do this.
