In Design and Technology, we have been designing, making and evaluating a litter picker to collect rubbish (we are committed to our protecting our planet). We got better at mastering practical skills by learning about and making lever mechanisms (this built on the knowledge we had learnt about slider mechanisms in Y1). We enjoyed following the design process of 'think, make, break, repeat'. Many of our final products were different to our original plans as we discovered things such as: making a litter picker out of card wasn't strong enough and we had to think again and try a different material such as wood. We were very proud of our final products. We put them to the test and picked up rubbish in the playground and we tried our litter picker on the way home too.
