Year Six History11 January 2022 (by Helen Fitzpatrick (admin)) |
This term, we have begun our new History topic in Year Six, all about Immigration to Britain.
We started by thinking about all the different periods of immigration to Britain that we have learned about in Years Three, Four and Five. We remembered the Bronze and Iron age settlers who sailed to Britain from Europe, and recapped the Roman invasion of Britain. We also remembered the Anglo-Saxon, Viking and Norman invaders who settled in Britain. We ordered these periods of immigration chronologically on our timelines. Next, we are going to learn about later periods of migration to Britain, including Huguenot refugees, Irish migrants and the Windrush generation.
