This week Year 1's design brief was to design, make and evaluate a story telling prop for a nursery class to make retelling of a story more interesting. In order to meet our design brief we had to develop our knowledge of slider mechanisms so we spent a lot of time practising how to make slot sliders and track panel sliders. In the end we created a story-telling prop that was colourful and interesting (to keep the nursery children engaged); included a character from the gruffalo (this is their favourite book to read); and moved smoothly (as they would need to use this prop again and again). We were really happy with our products and hope nursery will be too!
