Nursery go camping!30 November 2020 (by Mirjam Vollmann (mvoll)) |
Nursery this week have been pretend camping in the garden. The children built up their own imaginative role play activity, played co-operatively, and listened to and acted upon each other's ideas. Sticks were piled up for a campfire. A couple of children were being roosters and woke their friends in the tents early to start the fire, and pink and white felting wool wrapped around sticks was used as pretend marshmallows. Some children made their own shelters using tarpaulins. This activity lasted a whole three days, with more and more children joining in and elaborating ideas. The children had so much fun sharing their own experiences and learning about the world around them.
