The students in Sargeant Class were thrilled to get their hands dirty planting seedlings in our Edible Playground this week. The children worked in small groups to sew seeds and got to use the trowels as well. They watched closely as the teachers demonstrated how to take care with the roots of seedlings.

The students will continue to monitor what they have planted next term, as they will be responsible for maintaining our Year 2 garden beds.

Sargeant Class were particularly excited about this outdoor lesson as our class is named after Juliet Sargeant, a well known garden designer who won gold at the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to have a go being gardeners themselves!
