Year 2 have spent the last few weeks rehearsing and refining a musical motif based on The Gruffalo. The children worked in small groups to use their bodies and percussion instruments to represent the sound of one character from the story. We have been exploring pitch, dynamics, rhythm and tempo. The groups were challenged to encompass all these elements in to their final performance, as well as transcribe their motif using their own unique symbols.
